ELECTION: Hoekstra opens southeast Michigan campaign office

U.S. Rep. Pete Hoekstra of Holland, in west Michigan, opened up a campaign office in Macomb County Monday at 48711 Van Dyke in Shelby Township, his campaign announced.

In the Aug. 3 GOP primary, Hoekstra is running against Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard, Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox, Ann Arbor businessman Rick Snyder and state Sen. Tom George for the Republican nomination for governor. Democrats seeking their party's nomination are Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero and Michigan House Speaker Andy Dillon.
