Tea party hosts 9th district congressional candidates today

The Lakes Area Tea Party hosts Republican candidates for the 9th congressional district in a candidates’ night at 6:30 p.m. today at Multi-Lakes Conservation Association, 3860 Newton Road in Commerce Township.
Expected to attend are Anna Janek, Rocky Raczkowski and Paul Welday. Richard D. Kuhn is also on the Aug. 3 Republican ballot.

They are vying to run against U.S. Rep. Gary Peters, D-Bloomfield Township, in November.

The 9th District represents Pontiac, Lake Angelus, Auburn Hills, Keego Harbor, Sylvan Lake, Orchard Lake, Bloomfield Hills, Birmingham, Auburn Hills, Rochester Hills, Rochester, Troy, Clawson, Royal Oak, Berkley, Beverly Hills, Bingham Farms, Franklin, Farmington, Farmington Hills, and the townships of Southfield, Waterford, West Bloomfield, Oakland and part of Orion.

All members of the U.S. House are up for election this year as are offices for governor, state Senate, state House and county commission.
