Tea Party plans rally in Clarkston on Labor Day

The Independent Tea Party Patriots will be hosting a rally following the 10 a.m. Labor Day parade in Clarkston Monday, Sept. 6.

The rally will begin around 11:30 a.m. at 90 N. Main Street in downtown Clarkston on the grounds of the old township hall. Hot dogs and soft drinks will be provided at no charge.
The keynote speaker will be Wendy Day, one of the key organizers and leaders of the Tea Party movement in Michigan.
Day, a military wife and mom of four, helped organize the first tea party rally in Lansing in February 2009. She also led the April 15 rally in Lansing in an effort to promote lower taxes.
She was the main speaker at both events, and established Common Sense in Government, an organization that works to hold politicians accountable by informing their constituents about what they do in Lansing.
The Independent Tea Party Patriots favor less intrusive, fiscally responsible government, and the creation of private sector jobs in Michigan.
