Friday forum will tackle the thorny issue of mortgage fraud

State Sen. Jim Marleau, R-Lake Orion, holds a news conference at 11 a.m. Friday at the Oakland County courthouse to discuss mortgage fraud.

Marleau is a member of the state Senate Banking and Financial Institutions Committee.
Joining him will be Michigan Secretary of State Ruth Johnson and Oakland County Clerk Bill Bullard.
They'll be talking about legislative efforts to reduce mortgage fraud.
The meeting will be in the second floor judicial conference room at the county courthouse at 1200 N. Telegraph Road in Pontiac, which is in Building 12.
The FBI ranks Michigan in the top 10 for mortgage fraud.
An eight-bill package of legislation passed by the committee Marleau sits on makes mortgage fraud a crime in Michigan.
